Daily Beast Reporter Uses Grindr To Out Olympic Athletes

Straight reporter, Nico Hines thought that setting up a Grindr profile while in Olympic Village would make for a great story.  But it didn’t turn out that way at all.  The piece was originally titled:

The title was then changed to:

“The Other Olympic Sport: Swiping”

The article gave out enough details of athletes to make them easily identifiable.  One major problem with this is that some of these men are from countries where homosexuality is punishable by death or criminally prosecuted. Apparently, all of the straight sex that goes on in Olympic Village was not a story. Outing closeted gay men was.  Makes you wonder what his motivation was. Sad.
