GAY BOXER ORLANDO CRUZ LOSES BID TO BE CHAMPION

Orlando Cruz could’ve been the first openly gay boxer to be world champion. But that bid came to an end this past Saturday night. It wasn’t the first attempt for Cruz, but the prospect of a gay boxing champion set the boxing world abuzz.

Cruz’s husband, Jose Manuel, was no doubt there to support him as he attempted to take the title from Britain’s Terry Flanagan.  (Flanagan’s encouraging thoughts on gays below).
